Who We Are
STOPS — St. Tammany Outreach for the Prevention of Suicide — is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2001. We exist because St. Tammany Parish has one of the highest suicide rates in Louisiana, and we believe every life is worth fighting for.
We serve St. Tammany, Livingston, St. Helena, Tangipahoa, and Washington Parishes — bringing education, training, and compassionate support to every corner of the Florida Parishes.
Prevention
We provide education and resources to identify risk factors and promote mental wellness within St. Tammany Parish.
Intervention
We offer crisis intervention skills training to help individuals navigate difficult moments.
Post-Vention
We provide long-term recovery resources and community connection to ensure lasting stability and growth.
